Overview

Interactive Science Tennessee is uniquely customized to make learning personal, engaging and relevant for Tennessee students. The program establishes a student-centered learning environment using the 5E Learning Cycle as a structure for scientific inquiry—Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate—and includes hands-on, minds-on inquiry activities and Quests to encourage investigation and bring science to life.

Interactive Science Tennessee incorporates STEM Activities and Scenario-Based Investigations to promote critical thinking and support the Science and Engineering Practices (SEPs), as well as build on students' knowledge of Disciplinary Core Ideas (DCIs) and Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs).

The program includes the Tennessee Academic Standards for Science at point of use, supports Tennessee Read to be Ready with key reading skills, strategies, and support woven throughout student lessons to create interdisciplinary connections and provides ongoing assessment opportunities in various forms including diagnostic, formative, and summative to strengthen data-driven instruction and prepare for the TNReady Test.

Interactive Science Tennessee resides on Savvas Realize, offering complete standards-aligned content, flexible class management tools, and embedded assessments that deliver real-time data.
